The connection between preventative medicine and living in a Blue Zone is compelling, but it raises a question: how much of that benefit comes from individual lifestyle choices versus the surrounding environment, such as walkable communities, social ties, and food access? Framing prevention mainly as personal responsibility could overlook those structural factors. It would be interesting to explore how both individual habits and community design work together to support long-term heart health.
