TELEMEDICINE

We offer Telemedicine appointments for new patients and all follow ups!

Telemedicine is a virtual medical office visit done with your provider (Dr. Clifford Morris, Sheila Hautbois PA, or Kim Ketter NP) over your personal phone or computer. You do NOT have to come into the office, as it can be completed from the comfort of your own home!  All that is required is a personal electronic device (computer or smart phone), and subsequent quiet area where you can video consult with your provider.

TRY THIS! An alternative to rescheduling your appointment, whether you are sick or not, is to change your appointment to a TELEMEDICINE medical consult.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you bill my insurance?

YES! Currently most all insurances report they are covering "telemedicine appointments". However, we are encouraging everyone to contact their insurance to confirm, if you are not sure.

What do I need to participate in a telemedicine medical appointment?

  • Personal Computer or smart phone with video option

  • A quiet area to video chat with your provider!

  • All medications readily available prior to your appointment to review with the nurse

  • Your insurance card readily available

  • Internet (or data) access

  • Chrome or Firefox internet browser

What does a telemedicine consult look like?

  1. Make a telemedicine follow up or new patient appointment via our receptionist (804-530-1044)

  2. Please call us to let us know if you have been in the hospital since your last visit, so we can access those records prior to your appointment

  3. You will receive a call from one of the nursing staff prior to your appointment to confirm any changes in your current symptoms or medical history, and they will then detail how to connect with your provider via your cell phone or computer!

  4. Please make sure your speaker is turned on, and your camera is turned on.

  5. You may have to select the option in the url field to "allow pop-ups"

  6. If your provider is running behind, we will try our best to send you a message or a nurse will give you a call to keep you updated. If at any time you have any questions, simply give us a call!

Is this a regular office visit?

For all intents and purposes, YES! The provider will do a general physical evaluation via the video messaging, discuss all cardiac-related symptoms and conditions you are experiencing, review testing results, order testing, adjust/prescribe medications, etc. We can even show you images of your testing results! If additional testing is needed, a future in-office appointment may be recommended to you. Telemedicine visits are billed just like regular office visits; your usual copays and deductibles apply.

Do you have to be an already established patient to schedule a telemedicine appointment?

No! Currently new patients can also schedule these appointments. Please confirm with your insurance as to whether you need a referral from your primary care, or not.
